I may be from a small town but I love beauty and all that comes with it.
salt water orchid
My nose has never been happier! Today, I made a quick trip to Bath and Body works and Target. My bedroom hasn’t been smelling like I want it to lately. I think when I am in my room, I want the smell to relax me and I didn’t want it to be so festive seeing how my living room has wintery candles in it. Long story short, I bought a new wallflower from Bath and Body and its the Fresh Linen sent. It smells so good! It reminds me off Summer time and I love it. At Target, I bought a soy candle in the Salt Water Orchid scent and it again reminds me of Summer. When I was little my grandparents took me to the ocean every year so it really reminds me of it and especially mixed with the Fresh Linen.
Okay. I ran out of shampoo and conditioner finally. So I went out and bought Dove Damage Therapy. Lately, I’ve been noticing my hair is so dry and it’s been really dull. After one use, my hair feels and looks SO much better! I am so thankful for Dove! I don’t think I’ll be changing shampoos anytime soon!
bare minerals eyeliner
make up disappointment
So I’ve been using my Bare minerals Eyeliner pencil and holy disappointment. It rubs off so easily! I am so sad! Just a simple itch of the eye and it’s off and who wants to look like they forgot to put eyeliner on one eye? Nobody, that’s who. So disappointed.
all over face color
Let me just start off by saying, I have had the worst day. Everything that could go wrong has. Then I came home and on my bed there lies an Ulta box. Can you imagine how much my day improved! I ordered a blush, eyeliner and mascara and then as a free gift, I also got a bag full of goodies!
Bare minerals blush in vintage peach- I have recently been taking 3 steps back from bronzer and 4 steps towards blush. I am realizing I am pale and bronzer just doesn’t do it for me. So instead I am trying blush. I tried a little swatch on my hand of this color and I love it! I think it will look so elegant and natural which I love.
Bare Minerals Flawless Definition mascara- I have told you in the past that I have really sensitive eyes and Almay seemed to help but as of recently, my eyes have been hurting. I’m going to try this and it has a ton of bristles so I am really hoping that helps me not have spider eyelashes. Yikes!
Bare Minerals Big and Bright eyeliner- I can’t even express to you how excited I am for this. I bought mine in charcoal just because I have really dark brown eyes and sometimes black can make it even smaller. I don’t know if that makes sense but whatever. The end of this eyeliner also has a smuder AND when you pull that out, it has a sharpener. Little things like that make me happy.
Mineral Veil- I got this in my little bag. I have all that comes in the starter kit but I for some reason am not a fan of this stuff. It makes my face feel way to heavy so it looks like my little cousin will be getting that free gift.
Bare Minerals All over Face cover in True- this comes in a little jar. I sampled it on my hand and my goodness the shimmer! I think I will save this one just for a little shimmer on my face for a nice highlight.
Bare Minerals lipgloss in cupcake- I usually don’t like lip gloss simply because I hate that sticky feeling! It’s a really pretty color though and I think I want to keep it soley because I love the color and I think it is perfect for my skin tone.
Metallic bag- this is the bag the goodies came in! I think I will keep it just to keep some random things in or maybe i’ll give it to my little cousin. Who knows haha
I hope this helps somebody :)
Okay so I just happen to be running out of the following: toothpaste, body wash, shaving cream, razors, face wash, moisturizer, and body lotion. Any suggestions?
So as I sit here with tired arms I think to myself “self, why do braids have to hurt your arms so much?”
Here are my top 3 fave braids to have in my hair:
1) The reverse braid- some people call this the inverted braid or the inside out braid. What you do is section out your hair like a normal braid. Instead of running your fingers through the rest of your hair so it doesn’t tangle up, leave it alone. When you are braiding your hair, it will actually reverse your braid at the bottom and create the PERFECT loop for you to stick your remaining hair into and you DON’T have to use a hair tie!
2) Bang Braid- This is when you just French braid your bangs back. Part your hair a little more to the side than you normally do. Grab that extra hair you just used about an inch from your hair line. Then just French braid it like you normally would and pin it back with a bobby pin.
3) Fish Tail- This is my favorite one. I think it is so cute when its messy and you have some loose hair out. Just section your hair into 2 even parts. Grab a small strand from the BACK of one section and wrap it around to the FRONT of the other. This is a lot easier to practice if you have wet hair.
